What this site is — and what it isn't

The pages on goldenratio.clinic — including the homepage, the Journal editorial section, the FAQ, the Our Team profiles, and any other public-facing content — exist to help you understand who Golden Ratio Clinics is and how the service works. They are written carefully, but they are general information, not personal medical advice.

Nothing on this website is a substitute for an assessment by your own treating clinician, in the context of your own circumstances and history. Even where an article is written by an Ahpra-registered author, it is written for a general reader, not for any individual.

Personal medical advice — diagnosis, treatment, prescribing, follow-up — is given to you by your treating doctor, during a consultation, on the basis of their independent clinical assessment of you. It is recorded against your clinical record, and it is owned, professionally, by that doctor.

If something on this website seems to apply to you, the right next step is to talk to a clinician about it — yours or ours. If you are unsure, the free pre-screen call is the cheapest way to find out.

The outcome of any doctor consultation is determined by the treating doctor on the basis of their clinical assessment. A doctor may decide to proceed with a proposed plan, modify it, recommend an alternative, refer you to a colleague, or decline a particular treatment where it is not clinically appropriate.

We do not — and cannot — promise a particular outcome before a consultation has taken place. If a website or advertisement promises a specific medication or treatment outcome before a clinical assessment, treat that as a red flag wherever you see it.

Golden Ratio Clinics operates as a regulated telehealth medical practice in Australia. Our content, our marketing and our clinical conduct sit inside the framework set by:

• the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 (Cth) and the Therapeutic Goods Advertising Code administered by the TGA;
• the Ahpra prescribing guidance and Good Medical Practice code administered by the Medical Board of Australia;
• the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law, which governs registration and conduct of every clinician in the practice.

You can verify any clinician on the Ahpra public register, and each clinician's registration number is listed on our team page for one-click verification.

Some pages on this site link to external resources — the TGA, Ahpra, the OAIC, state Health Complaints Commissioners, support lines, peak professional bodies. We link to these sources because we think the original is worth reading. We are not responsible for the content of external sites, and an external link is not an endorsement of the operator of that site beyond the resource we have linked to.
